Pink hollyhocks in Clark Street Park

This is not derelict land.

Clark Street Park is a community maintained green space used daily by residents for walking, children’s play, prayer, picnics, and gardening.

Over the past five years, neighbours have planted native trees, berry bushes, vegetables, and pollinator-friendly flowers — creating a growing urban nature reserve.

Why We’re Concerned

A proposal is being discussed to build HMOs extending the Clark Street terrace into the park. This would remove established trees, destroy nesting habitat, and permanently reduce one of the few accessible green spaces in this low-income neighbourhood.

Once lost, this space cannot be replaced.
